The ruumi grazing app has been developed by farmers, software engineers, and data scientists to help overcome the challenges of implementing managed grazing. It uses a combination of satellite data, soil maps, seed-mix data, and state-of-the-art machine learning techniques to provide farmers with real-time information—and the user-friendly tools they need to manage their livestock with confidence.
By helping farmers manage their land, ruumi collects the information necessary to create carbon credits of the highest quality. This gives farmers access to a new revenue stream, which goes directly into financing the transition to more sustainable practices.
The data from ruumi’s platform combined with satellite imagery provides carbon credit buyers with unique, real-time insights into how their investment is helping create a better world. Carbon credits not only measure the increase in soil organic matter, but also consider how this increase has come to pass. Emissions from fertilizers, fuel usage, and methane emissions are taken into account, and only long-lived net improvements are certified.
ruumi was founded to help farmers transition to zero-input, high-output farms with happy cows and thriving ecosystems. Its mission is to make farmers profitable without subsidies, get companies excited about removing their greenhouse gases from the atmosphere, and reconnect consumers with the people and places that produce their food.
